Maribor DH World Cup round

At the weekend the World Cup circus rolled into Slovenia for the Maribor round of the Downhill World Cup. The podium’s top step was occupied for the first time by a non-Santa Cruz Syndicate rider after a tough days riding on a great course.

2010 World Cup dates announced

Dates have been announced for the 2010 MTB World Cup series with new courses in the US and UK featured. The series will open with a round of the Cross country in Dalby Forest. Unsurprisingly then Fort William will again host downhill and 4 Cross but not XC in June.

Peat wins World Cup DH round 2 in France

Britain’s Steve Peat (Santa Cruz Syndicate) proved he still has it with a commanding win in La Bresse, France on Sunday. The veteran rider won by 1 second over Sam Hill (Monster Energy/Specialized/MadCatz) with compatriot Michael Hannah (GT) coming in third.

Sunday sees the secound round of the Downhill World Cup in France. The course on first look does not seem very technical at all but a closer look shows steep technical sections between long sprint flatish sections so favours the more powerful riders. World Cup XC Rd.2 Offenburg Germany

Last weekend saw the second round of the Cross Country World Cup take place in Offenburg Germany. The course is renowned for its technical nature and being the first European round of the series, attracted a big entry.
First up were the girls with 6 laps of the course for a 36 kilometre distance.
