This weekend the Enduro World Series returns to Carrick mountain in Wicklow for the Emerald Enduro with previous winner Greg Callaghan currently ranked as World number 1. The main race is on Sunday but there is a supporting race on the Saturday and training for the main event on Friday and Saturday.
The map above gives details on how to access the course and is reproduced all over the mountain with walking routes clearly marked. In a change to the last two years, all the stages bar stage 3 are on the same side of the mountain making it even easier to access the stages and check out the action.
Stage 1 is an entirely new stage but many of the features that make the course so spectacular will repeat including the rock garden at the top of stage 3 that has ruined many a riders day in the past and Carnage Corner on what will be stage 5 this year. In reality though there are loads of great spots, make sure you bring your camera!
The weather is looking a little sketchy for Sunday with thunder storms forecast at the time of writing but Carrick has held it’s own in the last two years so fingers crossed.

In the meantime keep an eye out for the worlds best riders, many of whom are out cruising around local spots in Dublin and Wicklow before they can go and ride the course on Friday. There have been sightings at Djouce, Ballinastoe and Rostrevor to name a few.
