Roc d’Azur registration open

February 18th, 2015 · No Comments

Fancy a long term goal?  Want a late season break to the sun with a biking focus?  Look no further.  The annual Roc d’Azur bike festival registration has opened. Four months ago, 20,035 participants and 150,000 visitors came to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the biggest mountain-biking event in the world.

Now boasting some 28 different events during the festival there is something for everyone here.  The Roc is based in the town of Frejus on the Mediterranean coast near Nice. Full info below from the press release.

Pretenders for the Roc d’Azur adventure can register for one or more of the 28 events proposed in the various disciplines (cross-country, endurance, rides, triathlon), regardless of age and level of proficiency.

To provide even greater choice, the sporting programme has been slightly modified. Roc Light (accessible to professionals and uniforms, replacing the Roc Pro) and Rando Roc All Mountain (with the start and finish in the town of Roquebrune-sur-Argens) are now included in the programme for Thursday. The five days of events will finish on Sunday with the men’s and women’s Roc d’Azur featuring the world’s best mountain-bikers, all intent on enhancing their roll of honour with victory on this prestigious race.

There are also changes to the routes. As is the case every two years, the routes are partially renewed, giving the opportunity to offer new sensations to participants by introducing them to new tracks, whilst retaining passages through the legendary sites that have built up the reputation of Roc d’Azur over more than thirty years.

For the out-and-out fans of the Roc spirit, loyalty will be rewarded. Roc Series Packs offer several discounts (of up to 30%) and several privileges (fast-track collection of race numbers, advantageous starting positions, etc.) to participants that take part in two or three Roc events during the season (Roc d’Ardenne-Houffalize, 1st to 3rd May; Roc des Alpes-La Clusaz, 12th to 14th June; Roc d’Azur, 7th to 11th October).

The improvements will not merely be sporting in nature. In order to improve the visitor experience but also to promote the increasing number of the event’s partners and exhibitors wishing to take advantage of the exceptional showcase that this unique exhibition provides, the exhibition zone will be redesigned with optimised placing of the Team zone near to the activities zone. It will again be possible to test, free of charge, a wide range of products (bikes, equipment, etc.) thanks to an application that has been specially designed for these tests (featuring pre-registration, product catalogues, etc.).

The cocktail of sport, exhibition and activities, the veritable DNA of the Roc Series, is the guarantee of a unique and intense experience and ensures that Roc d’Azur remains the not-to-be missed mountain biking event of the year.
