Purveyors of the finest cycling gear money can buy Rapha have announced a new Pro Team collection. We’ve some experience with Rapha clothing and while it ain’t cheap it is among the favorite pieces in our wardrobes, certainly the most comfortable and stylish.
The 2015 Pro Team collection features a special ‘Data Print’ pattern that creates art from the science of modern road racing, London-based design studio Accept & Proceed used the ride data from an individual racer’s entire grand tour to make a very special graphic. Charting the rider’s performance levels for each stage, the resulting print is made up of precisely scaled chevrons mapping the rider’s distance, elevation gain and Training Score Stress (TSS) levels.
We admit it took a bit of getting used to but it’s starting to grow on us. We love the fact that the design actually means something. The collection is built for speed and tailored for professional road racers, delivering streamlined, lightweight and efficient racewear for competing at the highest level. Working with Team Sky helps Rapha remain at the forefront of racewear innovation as they produce all the teams equipment in close consultation with the riders. Such a close relationship yields new innovations and results with Irish rider Nicolas Roche particularly keen it would seem on his new attire. Teammate Peter Kennaugh is the face of the campaign.
