Syncros FL saddle review

June 13th, 2011 · No Comments

When people think of upgrades for their bikes it is often wheels, tyres, groupsets etc. but key contact points should also be considered – namely the saddle!

Racy lightweight saddles tend to trade comfort for weight but not here. This one tips the scales at a svelte 180 grams with carbon rails and shell but has a wide profile and that all important ergonomic styling which results in a comfortable perch that met all criteria.

The literature suggests this is a slim saddle but compared to some of the competitors saddles we have ridden it has a wider than normal shell giving the best comfort level we have ridden, especially on long rides.  It also allows you to easily clasp the saddle with your legs on technical descents where you want a bit more control.  The long comfortable nose is great for climbing allowing you to perch on the front and giving plenty of room to move around.

Okay it ain’t cheap but if you baulk at the price ask yourself how much your helmet cost or consider one without the carbon.  The carbon rails up the comfort level too we think.

Highly recommended.  RRP €188.90 for the carbon railed verson.  Available in black too.
