2010 Tour de France champion Alberto Contador has tested positive for trace amounts of clenbuterol during this years race. The rider pre-empted the announcement by releasing a statement yesterday and will clarify his position in a press conference at lunch time today.

On September 4th 2011 the streets of Galway will be alive with Ireland’s first Ironman competition, all be it the shorter half Ironman version. 70.3 relates to the total distance for the half Ironman in miles (116 kms) - 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim, 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run.
