The European Downhill Championships are taking place this weekend in Hafjell, Norway. Amid atroceous weather conditions with heavy showers the Irish underage team are doing us proud. Today saw the seeding runs for the final which takes place today Saturday. Riders will get one run in the final to decide the European championships.
At Under 14 level Luke Cornforth is seeded second. At Under 16 level Luke’s brother Cameron Cornforth has seeded third and Chris McGlinchy has seeded first!
Junior rider Gav Carroll suffered a bad crash on the fourth jump and it is unclear as to whether he will be able to race. At the time of going to press we hadn’t heard anything concerning the Elite squad of Colin Ross, Seanan O’Riordan, Ewan Doherty and Greg Callaghan but we will endeavour to bring you any information as soon as we hear it from our man in Norway…
