SRAM X-9 completes 10 speed offerings

April 29th, 2010 · No Comments

Component manufacturer SRAM has recently announced a complete revamp to the three groupsets (or families) immediately below their revolutionary range topping XX group.  All of them are now 2×10 speed with various levels of the technologies that make up the uber expensive top level series.

For its part X9 has been radically updated and now includes hubs, the fabulous Elixer CRs (rebadged as X9) and a full 2×10 set up. Billed as the riders drivetrain as oppose to racers choice capable of taking on the bike park as much as any trails it is sure to sell in droves and we feel will be well represented on race bikes in 2011 as it brings 2×10 down to a more economical pricepoint.  The only thing that mystifies us is that we now have a complete revamp of the whole range.  Usually we see these technologies trickle down the range over a series of years.  Now in under 12 months we have it on 4 drivetrains from SRAM.  We welcome this as it is now available to all.  Well done SRAM!

X9 will be available in white, silver and red.

If racing is not your profession but riding a bike is your passion, the new SRAM X9 drivetrain family is your relia-
ble choice. No matter if you ride the trails with your friends, consider bike parks your weekend home or can‘t get
enough of exploring the mountains with your bike.
The new SRAM X9 family benefits from the first ever 2×10 XX shifting technologies which provide smooth and
quick shifting. Complimented by the award winning Avid Elixir CR brake you get control and safety added to this
exciting new drivetrain package.
