Recently arrived into Spoke towers are two helmets from Italian manufacturer MET, the Kaos UL and the Valeno DIM.

MET Kaos UL

First up the Kaos UL is a all-mountain/trail orientated helmet with loads of vents and a great shape.  Those who sweat alot at their brow will love the gel pad as oppose to the usual textile one which won’t soak up sweat.  Similarly the straps are made from Kevlar, being more resistant, lighter and also ventilated.  The shell is where the  Kaos UL gets it’s name from.  UL stands for Ultimalite technology.  This is a MET developed and exclusively used technology for the top models, to make them even lighter without compromises in the safety of the helmet.  It’s available in white, Off-white and Silver/Grey.

The Veleno DIM is a full moulded cross-country helmet also using the Kevlar straps, coolmax padding, and an integral in-moulding construction.  Compared to the cheaper Veleono SIM the straps and the regulation are different, also the double in-moulding.  The finish is a sleek matt and is available in chocolate brown, white, black and silver.  Roel Paulissen won the Marathon World Championships riding this model.

We will have a full review coming soon on both lids.  Stay tuned!
