New bike park in Dublin City Centre

March 5th, 2010 · 1 Comment

Drury street car park now includes an indoor bike park for 192 bikes in the heart of Dublin, steps from Grafton Street.

Opened in October it hasn’t exactly been widely publicised but it seems an excellent step forward on behalf of the city council.  The area is under constant CCTV surveillance and bike parking is free to cyclists.  The area originally held 16 car parking spaces but is currently under utilised.  Spread the word so that it doesn’t disappear!

We need more of this type of thing, especially in a climate like ours. I hope this takes off. SquareWheels in Temple Bar also offers indoor bike storage, on weekdays at least. It often goes unnoticed and it cost’s relatively little too.
