Trans Germany sells out for 2010!

January 18th, 2010 · No Comments

A race which was considered the poorer brother to the Trans-Alp, the Trans Germany has sold out in record time for this year.  Organisers were overwhelmed with applications showing the popularity that these multi-day stage races have to offer.  1,200 riders are now registered with a waiting list system now in place.  The organisers also anounced that Syncros will come on board as a major sponsor ensuring the long-term viability of the race too.  Ireland will get its first multi-stage mountain bike race this year when the Celtic Xtreme race kicks off on the 6th of June.

These races are not just about an elite field pounding out the miles, they are an endurance challenge event with the vast mjority of competitors out to have a good time and enjoy the challenge.  The emphasis is on having fun riding your bike.

This year, the CRAFT BIKE TRANS GERMANY powered by NISSAN will be organised with the maximum field of starters as the mountain bike stage race which will leads from Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER) to Bregenz (AUT)
from June 2nd to 5th is sold out after having received 1,200 registration forms. All further entry applications being send to the organisers - no matter if by postal services or online - will only guarantee a spot on the
waiting list.
Due to this high interest in the fourth edition of the Trans Germany, organisers are looking forward to the starting signal. “We are absolutely stoked by this huge run on the entry spots which we witnessed over the past weeks. This shows us that we made the right changes concerning the alternating route and cutting the stages down to four. We are super motivated to ensure that every participant will have a great time at the upcoming Trans Germany” Anika Stephan, project manager of event agency PLAN B, explains.

But there are not only good news concerning the field. With Syncros a wellknown sponsor joins the pool of top partners. The specialist for almost indestructible mountain bike components which was founded 1986 in
Canada will be the presenter for the team classification from this year on. A perfect deal for the cult brand, which started to intensify its efforts for the marathon and cross country disciplines by implementing new FL carbon
gear about one year ago, as marketing director Roland Breinlinger says: “Especially the team classification of a stage race fits to the image of our brand Syncros. Racing in a team is all about team work so one mate is helping the other if he is down or doesn’t have a good day. On one day, one team mate is in great shape, on the next day, it might be the time of another team rider. In the end, solidarity and fun are more important than a win.”
