Shane Stokes is reporting on Cycling News that Irish National MTB champion Connor McConvey is set to join the An Post Sean Kelly team for the 2010 season and focus more on the road.
The team will also move its registration from Ireland to Belgium (where the team was based anyway) in order to allow it to race in more Belgian races which should hopefully help in the hunt for sponsors. One thing we will say though is - please streamline the name!
According to Cycling News the team announced on Friday that it will feature five Irish riders in 2010. David O’Loughlin, Paídi O’Brien, Mark Cassidy, Ronan McLaughlin, and Matt Brammeier (who formerly declared for Britain but now Ireland) all returning for 2010. Confirmation of McConvey’s participation is expected before the end of the week. No news yet on how much this would affect his participation in MTB domestic and World Cup racing. It does open the door for McConvey to race the Tour of Ireland though.
