Nestled in the heart of some of the best cycling in the country, Wicklow cycles is one of the newest bike shops in the country and we thought it was about time we checked it out.

Located right down on the Southern quay in the heart of the town, Wicklow cycles is the brain chold of Brian Conway.  Formally of the Cycle Inn, you may know Brian as the “Bike King” from when he ran a shop and service centre and Ballinastoe woods, saving many bikers from the I forgot…. ride ending nightmare.

The shop stocks a comprehensive range of road, mountain, leisure and commuting bikes with some top custom brands such as Cotic, Bianchi and Dolan with complete builds a speciality.  Clothing, nutrition and all the other usual products are stocked too and Brian has a policy of matching prices from other retailers including internet giants such as Chain Reaction and we were impressed with the low prices in store.

The shop is also positioned very close to the Irish Giant distributors and we were shocked at some of the low prices instore including this lovely time trial bike that was a snip at €1280, several hundred cheaper than we had seen it elsewhere.
