Connor McConvey signs with Focus De-Brink Ten Tusscher

June 29th, 2009 · No Comments

Irish cyclist Connor Mc Convey has overcome the recent problems with the now non existent Felt MTB trade team by immediately signing with the Dutch based team Focus De-Brink Ten Tusscher.  Despite the problems for his former team, it has been a breakthrough year for the young Ulster-man who is ranked inside the top 5 U-23 riders at World level.

Team manager Jan Ten Tusscher, was able to recruit two former Team Felt racers into his young mountain bike team.
In 2008 Ten Tusscher was the man behind the scenes of the Cannondale-Vredestein team where Jakob Fuglsang raced his final year in mountain biking and Roel Paulissen became world marathon champion.

By recruiting the 20-year-old Irish mountain biker Connor Mc Convey and the 24-year-old Swedish racer Emil Lindgren, Ten Tusscher seems to be already preparing for the 2010 season to surprise the world again with a new team…
“As a team we are taking the next step sooner than expected, admits the team manager, “There was an unique opportunity to recruit these young and talented racers. I’ve spotted Connor long before now! Aged 20 and already one of the top 5 U23 riders in the world… Emil had a good beginning of the season and I’m thinking he may become a very consistent top racer. Besides that, I like the Northern-European way of thinking: all no-nonsense guys.”
