On test - Sidi Eagle 6 Carbon SRS MTB shoe

March 27th, 2009 · No Comments

Sidi have been specialising in cycling shoes since 1970.  This reviewers first pair of cycling shoes were Sidi Dominators and I rode them till they literally fell apart, about 5 years.  Sidi are renowned for their comfort, fit, styling and design and the Eagle sits near the top of the MTB range.

It features a carbon sole running from the heel to the toe, two velcro straps and a ratchet closure system.  We actually prefer this combination to the boa system that is available on more expensive shoes.  Time will tell and we will expand on this in the whole review.

One of the great things about Sidi shoes is the availablility of spares.  The grips on the sole are all replacable as is the ratchet, strap, heel cup, sole etc.  This ensures that the shoe lasts a long time.

The only negative thing is the price but this is a case of you pay for what you get.  In this case its €315.

Available from The Cycle Surgery at Snow & Rock in Dundrum Shopping Centre.  Full review to follow soon.
