This just in - Endura rain jackets.

September 19th, 2008 · No Comments

The first of our Eurobike test gear arrived yesterday, a pair of rain jackets from UK manufacturer Endura along with a set of Winter gloves.  The Summer has been such a washout that we could perhaps have done this sooner but we are glad we didn’t as Endura have just released a really exciting new commuter/cycling jacket called the Luminite.

Endura Luminite

This jacket looks and fits really well on initial inspection and has a cycling fit thats very comfortable on the bike.  It’s breathable and waterproof with a host of features designed to make you more comfortable on the bike.  However the real winning point on this jacket is a built in flashing LED light on the back.  This gives 50 hours of flashing and takes a simple watch battery when it needs to be replaced.  The whole unit which is really small (see below) slides out off the jacket for washing.  When we saw this at Eurobike we were immediately struck as to how useful this would be for commuting or simply coming back from a normal MTB ride in the dark.

We also recieved the Stealth jacket.  This is a  multi award winning waterproof, breathable soft shell jacket with a whole host of features including welded seams, underarm and side zips, waterproof wrist zips to name a few.  We are really impressed with this on first impressions.

Last but not least, are these Endura Dexter winter windproof gloves.  As the evenings have been getting shorter and colder we reckon these will be an absolute lifesaver over the coming months.

We will be bringing you full reviews on these once we have gotten some trail with them.  Fortunately (or unfortunately!) this is one test that we don’t think will take a while as weather conditions on our last 4 rides would have had us wearing this gear so we’ll check in shortly with how we have got on.  More information on Endura clothing is available from their excellant website - www.endura.co.uk.
