Carlingford Marathon.

This Saturday Cuchulainn Cycling Club are running “Da Cooley Thriller” in Carlingford. Starting and finishing in the village, the race will head out into the Cooley mountains for one large loop of 52 kms or a shorter 27km loop. Predominantly singletrack, the road has only 14km of roads and 6kms of fire roads.

Lance Armstrong has confirmed that he will indeed return to race at the top level of road racing in 2009. Just ahead of his 37th birthday the Texan rider has told Velonews and Cycling news that the Tour de France is his goal, a potential record 8th title.
